This paper aims to contribute to the identification and diffusion of an element of the philosophical corpus that emerged from colonial Chile: the courses dedicated to the study of the animastics. The paper first addresses the primary sources preserved in the National Historical Archive and in the Franciscan Historical Archive in Santiago, Chile, and subsequently provides a brief commentary of the structure, contents and particularities of these documents. Thus, this paper offers an approach to unpublished material, which aims to facilitate and guide future research in this relatively unexplored area of the discipline.
